Rhea Mercado is a Healthcare Humanist and speaker and is leading The Intelligent Rebellion to shake up organisational hierarchies and create open forums that empower professionals to speak up and contribute their vision towards a better future. As an exercise physiologist, rehabilitation specialist and business owner, Rhea understands the challenge of balancing ‘mission and margin’. After witnessing the rise of occupational burnout in colleagues and experiencing it herself, Rhea shifted her focus from the patient to the professional, founding The Intelligent Rebellion and Threesticks Training and Development to create safe spaces for diversity, equity and connection that ignite better conversations and solutions to mend our broken systems

Rhea is creating safe spaces for connection, igniting better conversation, and empowering professionals to speak up and contribute their vision towards a better future. Alongside her consulting and training work, Rhea is the host of The Intelligent Rebellion Podcast and author of “Compo - A Rehabilitation Consultant’s Journey.”

As a speaker, Rhea is dynamic and infuses every presentation with credibility, relatability, sass, and charisma. A pragmatic and heart-driven storyteller, Rhea challenges audiences to ask better questions and to invest in building support networks, and gives them a good dose of common-sense and wisdom that is often missing from corporate conferences and events.
